This is weird. I am wondering if anyone else has ever had this happen or is it something i can fix.

I fill a layer with a gradient and make a rectangular selection inside a bit smaller.
Now i hit the delete key and using the fuzzy select tool i select the deleted area.
This also happens with the color select tool.
Now i go to select grow and use any number of pixels for expanding the selection. The selection now has rounded corners.

Anyone else experiencing this and can you tell me why this happens?

This also happens with select border. I get a nice rectangle with sharp angles inside and rounded corners outside.

That's odd... :geeking
I've never seen that in the Gimp 2.6 that I use. Haven't seen that happen in my portable 2.8 either.

The way to fix this is to select with the fuzzy select tool then select the rectangular select tool and select expand from center. Now just re size the rectangle to the desired size.

Thanks Saulgoode. I thought this had been discussed before but wasn't sure.
I grabbed the selection script again. :bigthup
