Hi, i wonder if someone can explain a way to do this effect in gimp, thanks.

I'm sure with a grid texture, and using the displacement effect can be done, but in the try i failed.

I'l pretty sure this wasn't done with Gimp. The displace map usually adds a rather visible blur...

Here's a fake that used G'MIC's 3D Blocks followed by Isophots. :)

Slightly different settings then followed the result with Gradient Norm preset (again, another G'MIC preset). :)

Thanks Molly; still, it's a fake. Maybe David can come up with a true wireframe that can detect the contours of facial features like his 3D Blocks preset does. :)

You inspired me gjg; believe it or not, I've been wanting to do renders like this for a few years now and your inspiration induced me to think how now that I've learned a few tricks. Recently, David released 3D Blocks and voila; got a brain fart. lolol

It's an honour be able to inspire you. :D
I'm still fascinated with the 3d blocks, it's a amazing filter, I wish in the future be pro like David or you or everybody who is behind G'mic.
