Bonjour,

The script for Gimp 2.8 is available in the archive.

Filters > Render > QWERTY 256 ...

(this script is very slow).

Samj has done some work on this script and now it absolutely rocks :yes

it takes a little practice to get the menu right but the results are worth it

I thought I would add some examples to help
open an image, as below, I was in a hurry so I just splashed some color

for text in rectangles, first create the rectangles,by setting menu as below

then create the text by selecting the new image and setting menu as below

or you can elect to get just text by setting menu as below

with all the other settings feel free to experiment

Molly I have only shown Ascii2 results the other effects can also give exciting results

What other effects, I haven't even looked at the script yet. Closing down for the night now, the back is getting stiff.

I do too, your first one looks like a circle or a coil. Graechan seems to have the magic touch.

I

used a picture and it was doubled in size after.
forgot to change from ascii on this one

Changed it to 'phrase' on this one

The only setting I changed was the 'effect' not sure why they are different sizes

Those are very cool, I don't know how you managed to have the picture up front like that.

Working for me - It didn't at first because I forgot to change a setting
