Ullead Particles plug-in

I tried installing the ulead plugins and I came up with errors saying that the dll files couldn't be located, when running the programs in gimp. Are there instructions on how to install and run these programs properly in gimp if anyone wanted to run them using windows? I am using windows 10 and these programs have given me nothing but trouble.

Where did You put (moved) the 11 dll files?
Two recipes: in #4 or #22 (I checked again - both work).

The rest goes to the Photoshop plug-in directory.

I had moved the dll files to my system 32 folder. Then after a while I got fed up and uninsalled it. I didn't know that the others belonged in the photoshop plug-in directory because neither post 4 or 22 mentioned it. When installing it, I can't get that far because it will not allow me to browse through other folders like AppData/Roaming.. in order for me to get to the proper folder.

So You can't install any other add-ons (like patterns, gradients, scripts, plugins) to Gimp in this location (... AppData\Roaming\GIMP\2.10\ .....)?
Do You have administrator rights?

Windows usually hides these folders from the user. Try show hidden files.

That, I can do. Yes, I have administrator rights when it comes to installing other add-ons. It's installing Ulead that is the problem.

Rod, I tried that and it didn't work. When I tried installing Ulead this time, I still ran into that same problem.
It will not allow me to search for the plug-in folder that is located in gimp. I got this instead:

Edit: I went the other way and added the plugins through the lib folder on my C drive. I'm still trying to get this to work. I tried running particle and I received this error:

I went through the same process for the art texture and fantasy warp. I also placed all three photoshop plugins in the photoshop folder. I received similar errors for both plugins. What am I doing wrong?

OK let me explain it in slow motion, because there is some confusion here. :hehe

1. Take all the .dll files from the plugin ULead and place it where you have your PSPI installed, inside your: C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Roaming\GIMP\2.10\plug-ins\Photoshop Plugins

2. Then create a folder in the same directory and name it "ULead particle":
C:\Users\Pocholo\AppData\Roaming\GIMP\2.10\plug-ins\Photoshop Plugins\ULead particle
Place the other four files including the "8BF File (.8bf)" name Particle in that directory.
Simple as that!

C:\Program Files\GIMP 2\lib\gimp\2.0\plug-ins before you start.

** If you have problems then you have multiple files with the same name. If you have them then delete any double with the same name. Make sure is a double otherwise you will get errors. The year of the file created are from 1997 and maybe 1998, so it won't be so hard to find them.

I will try it but your explanation is still confusing me. What other four files are you referring to?

In your explanation,
I have my pspi folder here:

I have the plugin folders here with the four files in each of them:

The problems I have are do all of the DLL files go into the pspi folder for the ulead particle, the fantasy warp, and the art textures or do they go into separate folders within the pspi folder?

You created folders for other Photoshop plugins inside the main Photoshop folder and that is good.
Mine folder is name Photoshop Plugins, but your is Photoshop and that is OK
Get all the eleven .dll and put them inside the Photoshop main folder.

In my opinion, putting Photoshop Plugins in the plug-ins directory (only for * .py, * .exe, * .dll) is not a good solution.

Then, I'm not understanding. How do users like myself get Ulead Particle, Ulead Fantasy Warp, and Ulead Art Textures to work in gimp if putting photoshop plugins in the plug-ins directory is not a good solution? If you looked at my previous posts, you'd see where I have them. Where do you suggest that the dll files go? I stopped with the installation because it is still confusing. Instructions on how to install it can't be translated within the text file, which means that there are no instructions. I found one video on youtube, which helped me with nothing.

I have a Folder Photoshop Plugins inside the GIMP plug-ins folder, separated from the rest of my third party plugins. Inside this folder (Photoshop Plugins) I have the PSPI and the all the Photoshop filters each in their respective folders.
I place the all the .dll in the main Photoshop folder like you see in the image I provided.
The plugin work.

Will continue with this, after I figure out why I can't import or save images in gimp.

I don't think we understand each other a bit. :roll:

I just wanted to point out that Gimp tries to load everything listed in the directories specified in Preferences (even zip or 7z files !!!).
So it will unnecessarily search (according to Your screenshot) directories from Almathera to Ulead (which can be located in virtually any neutral place added later to the Photoshop Plug-in Setting location).
