- it didn't work apparently for me because the windows shows up exactly high as the screen hight is

- I may let windows to hide it automatically and see all the options (and use BRL!)
- alternatively I may resize the window acting on the corners and the scrolling function becomes active! GOOD!
It was my fault, sorry Gnutux (if you ever read this post)

Hi dinasset. I just wanted to mention scrolling still works for me and i have the exact same setup as yourself.

On my PC this is what happens:
1: initial call, parameters window on full screen: NO scrolling bars
2. after resizing that window (acting on the corners): YES scrolling bars

No problems for me, now that I know the behaviour

Has anyone had problems with the program stopping halfway through? I get "non responsive" message at the top of the dialog box. I have left it run for 45 min. or so and it doesn't finish. It does this a lot but most of the time eventually finishes, but at times, not.

Pat625 - I have not had an BRLs that did not actually finish Pat, but yes that Not Responding message is annoying but probably means its working very hard in the background. I have had some that kept going for several hours though, typically of course on very large selected objects using Round 2 bevel. In fact my longest was well over 4 hours - so I suppose patience is really a virtue. :)

OMG: Thank you for responding. Four Hours! That must have been one of your exquisite works of art for which you have become famous! I will have more patience!

Pat625 - last night I left one running .. I know it was well over 4 hours when I retired for the night, so I do not know when it finished or how long it eventually took. I must be a glutton for punishment

I had it running for more than one hour and when I saw the result I had to throw it away because it had several little defects as the base wasn't completely clean, a pity. The size of the item was 1200x1200. The size of the item is related to the time that script needs to give the result. :)

I've gone as far as turning off every process that might be running in the background. As well as any security software, that I often have running and any extra stuff, like monitoring software, email programs etc.
Of course it will still take time with very large selections, but if it's the only thing running and you have a CPU with at least 2 cores, 4 or more gigs of RAM and a dedicated GPU, it shouldn't take too long to render.
I've never had any renders take as long as what OMG has described. I'm running a 2 core CPU, Nvidia Quadro GPU with 4 GB of GDDR5 Ram and 8 GB of system Ram.
The most I've ever waited might be 10-15 minutes. On a 1600x1600 image, with everything turned off as I explained.

I had the same problem again. It had run over 6 hrs. when I went to bed, finished in the morning so I don't know how long it ran, either. Result was nice.

Thanks Wallace, the thing is that it happens to me when applied on a simple (no ornaments on it) circle the script takes it an hour in my case. I think I have 2 cores.
Pat, I think that is too long in your case. What is the size? is it a simple object?

Finding out what 's running in the background can help.
Once you find out what's running in the background, you can stop it.

The other thing to look at is your Tile Cache.
If you have a low value for tile cache.
GIMP then sends data to your HDD and doesn't make good use of available RAM,
leaving your HDD doing most if not all the work.

Too high a value and some applications will have less resources,
forcing them to use swap space,
this can also makes the HDD work even harder.
Applications may then terminate or start to malfunction, because of lack of RAM.

For more about Tile Cache, see the link below.

Thank you Wallace, I'll have it checked as soon as I can as it's very interesting and useful. :)

I was working on a star with many points. It was larger than other things I have done. Won't do anything that large again.

Where do you find the file cache to change it? I only have 4 megabites ram.

You can find the Tile Cache size under,
Edit>Preferences>Environment.

Note: It's called Tile Cache and not File Cache.

Thank you, Wallace for the information and the word correction! I didn't have my glasses on and apparently needed them!

Wow

I was having the same problems some of you had with not being able to resize the panel

I even posted a thread in the help section. Didnt get much help though

I wish someone would have pointed me to this thread

I got it working and have made some really nice things with it

Its really fun to play around with all the settings and see what kind of effects you can get

I thought this turned out really good, considering its the first time I got Bevel reflect to work

I have updated to 2.8.16 and when I use Bevel Reflect Logo, I get a panel that is too large and it doesn't fit my screen. Has the scrolling bar been updated to go along with the plug in? I am using Windows 64 Bit.

I looked at those pages and they didn't tell me anything. What was I supposed to be reading on those pages?
