New guy here saw this and just had to post.
Really love your plugins the only raster based path system I know that can animate paths like this.
Really nice almost flash like animations,

(I can't seem to adjust the stroke line size or emulate stroke on stroke all visible layers for some reason. is it stuck to default values?)

if it worked than you could have any brush to animate to almost any shape. Raster brush styles are something vector animation I don't think really offers. such tools would be usefull even in video editing effects. not just 2d animation.

Just curious how difficult would it be to create stroke visible paths to existing layers py. script.
Is this possible? that way one can create paths on top of other layers with pre-existing path strokes. for animating that would be really useful, as all lines in animation don't always touch.

With these tools gimp is already in my opinion a better choice for 2-d animators then, pencil pap, etc. A flash like animation mixed with 2d raster based benifits very unique. really excellent work.
Thanks alot for the script.

Stroke-visible-paths uses the current brush, so if you want to change the size of the line you just activate a different brush (or, if you are using a "parametric" brush, change its definition).

I have an "interleave-layers" script that lets you blend a stack of layers with another. You can use that to merge the layers produced above with your existing layers:

Doc: http://gimp-tools.sourceforge.net/animationtools.shtml

Glad I took a peek at gimpchat today. Being able to animate paths greatly expands Gimps animation capabilities. Nice work ofnuts. :yes

Playing around with it I came up with a few simple animations:

(just don't ask me what that object is doing when it lifts one of its legs, lol)
Actually doing the leg lift helped me to create the animation below.

A little two-stepping animation:

I used both the path inbetweener and the stroke visible paths plug-ins by ofnuts. Very cool being able to do animations with paths. Thanks for these and all your beneficial plug-ins ofnuts.

:)

Forgot I even had this plugin. lol

Just playing with shading effects added to the path-inbetweener result. :)

Love all the animations I created a simple animation using keyframes as reference points used to many nodes and had a little difficulty with the hands so sorry about the sloppy hand drawn animation. on the right side lol I guess it shows the contrast between the vector line animation and the quickly drawn hand animation I could of probably done better, lol
yet I spent to much time learning the path tool better, next time I use less nodes and work with curves better. animation is loaded as Gif file hope thats okay.

Its cool that I figured out that you can have more than one path on a path layer they dont have to connect you just have to select a node that is not on the edge. to creade new unnconected nodes. very useful.

If you have Python support in your Gimp it will work.

Very nice animation....

'mirror-path' is when you right click on a path in the paths-tab under 'tools'

Ofnuts i am using Windows Vista and i have the same problem but only with inbetweener.
It isn't showing in the menu under vectors>tools.
I did right click and select properties and unblocked the python file.

Image

Weird that this is the only file not showing.Perhaps another plugin is preventing it from initializing?
I even tried to view in plugin browser and its not listed. :)

Wait intermediate paths IS inbetweener. lol
Still it will only create the same path layer over and over.Even if i merge visible paths.

I just wasn't selecting the correct path in the interface.

Is there a way to stroke ALL visible paths at one time without having to merge them all?

Ofnuts is there a way to change the width of each path?
When i use the script it reverts to the stroke path dialog it seems. That is default set to 6 pixels, and i would like to control that with the interface.
