I'm getting lost, what is the difference with this
viewtopic.php?f=9&t=19924&start=40#p274296 ?
I see here/on your post above, 2 types of window, a short one and a long one, it means they are separate effect? Can the long window (GEGL Effect) do inner glow as well?

https://github.com/LinuxBeaver/GEGL-Inner-Glow GEGL Effects Inner Glow is now a hidden operation. But Inner Glow alone is a visible operation.
GEGL Inner Glow got a important update It now has the ability to fuse with blend modes. This only works as a stand alone version, not GEGL Effects version.

Based on everything I know it should be possible (in theory) to make GEGL Effects inner glow, gradient and image overlay use blending modes of their own, but I do not know how to do this and no existing Gimp Filter (except Emboss) does something like this. I looked at emboss's code and found just a bunch of math on the Multiply checkbox and I am hopeless to replicate it.
This is why I am hope smarter people come along and make third party GEGL filters. We are in the first wave and first author of third party GEGL Filters. I am pioonering the meta. We can only hope that future third party GEGL devs will show up and out do me.

Around a month ago
InnerGlow had a silent update that gave it a median blur slider to fill in corners with the inner glows color. I can't put it into words that good but here is a video preview of the fix.
ttps://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/6 ... er_fix.mp4Just now Inner Glow got an update that gives it the ability to switch between square, diamond and circle shadows and a hidden zz operation is gone.

This is black text with the inner glow features. I am quite pleased with this filter.

My question is, why does it change the text color? I just want to create the inner glow on the text without changing the text color.

Your text is probably too small or the blur radius is too high.

This is what I mean. The text change to white in all the colors I use for the text.

I will like to see this result:

You are suppose to use blend modes or a layer above. I did this intentionally so inner glow could blend with different modes and be non-destructive removable. The effect you used does the same thing but unlike GEGL, script fu can create new layers in Gimp.

If I did not do this the inner glow would not be able to blend as seen here.

Duh!

How can I missed that. Thank you contrast_ for the obvious explanation

InnerGlow now only uses one binary no ZZoperations but please keep invert-transparecy.so/dll "gegl:it" if you have it. As this operation is used for GEGL Cutout and it is a stand alone filter. (NOT A HIDDEN OPERATION!
