I don't understand why the "sky layer" is set to "Layer Mode:Dissolve"?

Wallace,
using default (or similar) gradient, dissolve creates a bunch of little lighting points.
When changing the gradient (or if you do not like the "powder" of light) you may change it to overlay or whatever.
Probably it's only my personal taste to have that luminous powder simulating the sun outside the window.

...and: I like your outcome, for me the Yellow light powder is appropriate in there, but -again- it's my taste

Okay I got it and thanks.
I wasn't sure if that was a mistake or not,
but your explanation makes perfect sense. :bigthup

Thanks Rod.
I'm working on a version 2 of the filter to allow the user selecting whether to use or not cartoonizer.exe (for non Parthas's Mac users).
In addition this version 2 will offer other choices concerning the visibility of the original image and the relevance of the embellishments.
Last not least it fixes an error in the frame size and therefore in resizing.
I'll ship it to you as soon as ready.

Looking forward to it!
I'm still having fun with it.
I deleted the base image on this and put the original back in.

The code has been completed, the tests also (thanks to Issabella!).
Filter and description of version 2 are now in the hands of Rod, who should check if everything OK then publish it.

Diego please test this filter in McGimp (it will only work in Parthas version for Mac).
Maybe if you can not 2-ton will test it perhaps?

Thanks, Rod !
I do not have the possibility of testing in a McGimp environment.
About the version 2 I opened a new thread to keep them separate.

I just saw this. My McGimp already has cartoonizer in it, is this a different one that I would replace it with? I should have some time to mess with Gimp this weekend.

If the cartoonizer was already in, only Partha knows why he recompiled it (v.2?)

before making any change to your McGimp set-up, could you try to make my filter run?
thanks

edit: I didn't specify: try version one of my filter (version 2 does not make use of cartoonizer in Mac environments)

That could be the default plug-in that comes with your GIMP install 2-ton.
Can you try Diegos filter real quick and see if it works with your current installed cartoonizer plug-in?
Then try it with this new one installed?
The one Partha compiled is this one Sam compiled before. :)

I might be wrong...in my McGimp it's a slightly different name, it's cartoonize, without the 'r'.
