This is basically a python version of Brian Hahn's original script with extras.
It adds options for stroking the paths with colour, for removing or merging the resultant paths and, less usefully, for modifying the position of the paths within the sequence.

I hope it offers even more opportunities for play.
Some examples in the next post...

The colour options allow individual paths to be coloured.
The modifier options allow for incremental spacing between paths/rotations to be used. Here using the colours from a metallic gradient (No modifiers applied to the first of the first three image sequence:

Thanks folks.
I would say it is a change from custom fonting but I actually wanted to use it to create some custom font faces of course...

Hi Skinnyhouse
This plugin is my next plugin for adding Live Previews.
One question for you:
The plugin does not paint the original path, only subsequent copies.
I changed it, but maybe there is some unknown reason for this behavior?
Question for everyone:
what should I call this plugin (shorter)?

There is no reason apart from laziness - it has been on my todo list for 4 years now!
As to a shorter name - we could put it out as a Gimp competition - I could never decide on a name myself.
Dog Path Walker?
Paste-a-Path?
Path-a-logical?
BTW which version are you going to use?

I used the plugin from post #1.
Has there been any update?
Your code is implemented in LP (so as not to interfere with the original and small devices like: pf_offset_y and pf_centre_Y - positive values = up).
My only idea for a name on the menu is:
Filters ➤ Path ➤ Modify Path...

Version 0.06Still using the lazy code however!

For me, the PLUS & WALK version is completely different plugins.
PLUS works on the active layer and the active path, while WALK needs 2 paths (these are paths along the path).
If there are no other ideas, the old name will remain:
Copy Rotate Shift + LP...

I'm happy if you're happy.

Preliminary version Copy Rotate Shift + LP available here:

Small update - "Scaling" options added (Ver.1.1).
Not as "artistic" as "Path Scale Copy Rotate Shift Walk Version 0.07 with Tabs", but to some extent (automation) it exceeds the capabilities of Inkscape.
Further versions using effects from G'MIC and GEGL are possible.
This will undoubtedly slow down the plugin, but it will still be faster than doing it manually.

I'm guessing you can only use one path. Example, I made a paw print path and this plugin only rotates one toe of the paw print. Still messing with it to see if I am missing something.

Hey guys,
I downloaded the version available in post #15 and in the little time available that I was able to test this plugin, it wasn't enough for me to familiarize myself with how it works.
Using the Preview Yes/No option was something that initially left me lost in using the plugin.
Some particularities I still don't quite understand:
1- I make a certain adjustment with the options that the plugin offers me (Scaling, Offset (x/y), Number of copies, etc.), only to realize that I need a better adjustment.
Then I deactivate Preview and make a new adjustment to the plugin settings. And so things keep repeating themselves...
However, when I am satisfied with the result obtained and click "OK", it is not only this final result that is generated, but all previous previews are created, each one on its own layer.
In other words, I end up with several unnecessary layers that may be using resources such as memory, for example.
2- The images generated by the plugin (crs.svg-xx) are not closed.
Even after closing all images in Gimp ( File - Close All --> Shift + Ctrl + W ), these images are still present in the Images Menu window, and if I click on any of them in this window, the path immediately becomes visible in the Paths tab.
A curious fact is that I can select this path and fill it in, but it is only visible in the paths tab window, on the canvas nothing appears.
I don't know if I'm managing to describe correctly what I would like, but I tried :-)
I hope tomorrow (maybe) I will have time to play more with this plugin again.
Thank you Gentlemen!
