Post all Gimp scripts and script writing questions here

During the last days I revelead to my friend Issabella my lack of new ideas.
So I remembered that I started my scripting life by translating into a filter a tutorial posted by Issabella. And also during this time I did it another time.
I asked then Issabella whether she could represent a "source of new ideas", which I could then try to translate into scripts.
She accepted.
This is the thread of this "Joint Venture".
She will send me a tutorial, I will try to script it.
Then, if we succeed in producing something nice, she will post the tutorial, I will post the script.
Once done, each GC visitor will have by this way two possibilities:
- lazy people -like I am- can download, install, play with my filter,
- more creative people can download, personalize and apply her tutorial.
There is also the possibility to extend this Joint venture by asking us for new editions, both for the tutorial and the script.
Let's see how this evolves.

- see tutorial at post #2
- see filter last update at post #23
A new variant (A2) (as suggested by Nidhogg) is now available

a variant (B2), simpler in the code and with a different set of predefined colours
- no changes in the tutorial
- see filter at post #95
a different preset posted on page 113
third effect (C):
- see tutorial at post # 131
- see filter at post # 133
an update of the filter, thanks to MareroQ (C2)

fifth effect (E):
- see tutorial at post # 276
- see filter at post # 277

Nidhogg, you did a nice start. Thanks.

After going through the tutorial, I was curious to test the difference if you would use Color to Gray (12-6-6) instead of Sobel.
This eliminates desaturate and invert, shortening the process.
