Wished I knew about this method ofnuts showed me that gets average color of selected are and this script before I tried to to do this piece back in the day.

which "script" did ofnuts suggest to you? (I can imagine the method, not the script)

That result is very good.
Ofnuts suggested the use of pdb.gimp_histogram... which i had no clue how to use.

I think just a certain percentage blur and then average that color would do it.

I meant that Ofnuts showed me that method and now that's what's used in the script.
And it does average color of selected area..
