Tran: There must be a lot of other things we can do with this script besides trees (although I love them dearly.) I must think on this.

Hi There,
I am trying to use the script but I get error for 'inner glow effect' . I even changed the layerfx.py but not success. I have seen same error in the case of other users. Is it a bug or some technicality in the script?
Thanks

The script is working fine for me in GIMP-2.8.20 64 bit.
Are you using the correct layerfx.py?
There are two
layerfx-2.8.py and layerfx.py you want "layerfx.py"
http://gimpscripts.com/2011/10/gimp-layer-effects/layerfx-2.8.py is notorious for not working with scm filters as it uses layer groups.

Hi Rod,
Thanks. No error after replacing the plug-in. Should I keep both versions in the gimp plug-in folder or delete layerfx-2.8? Can they coexist together and perform when and where required individually?
Thanks.

I never had them both together in the plug-ins folder but if they both open and work individually you should be fine.

I must have been busy when this one came out since I don't recall seeing this thread. Cool stuff. May download the script later and play (but it is my weekend (full-time job) and my part-time job will occupy me most of next week unfortunately). Anyway, thanks for the info and script links Tran/Conbagui.

edit:
And from the looks of things, since GIMPScripts is no longer, it may be a bit difficult to hunt down all the required stuff to run the script. May try to do so later. Still, some cool results; I bet there's more than one way to skin a cat. Possibly run an alpha to logo and then using a bark texture with displacement and merge. May try to go that route since I'm a lazy bstard and it will be trying to find all the things needed to run Tran's script. We shall see.

The only thing you need is to have Layerfx.py installed and the Bark textures.
If you don't have them, here I uploaded a copy to use with 2.10 version. I hope this can help you Lyle

The old script worked ok for me see:
https://www.gimp-forum.net/Thread-Can-t ... 9#pid11429Am sure the new version is even better

The old version worked for me too but I just ran it through GIMP20 constantize plugin just in case other GIMP 2.10 people have problem with constant names...
I notice in the past many scripts worked for my 2.10 doesn't work on other's 2.10's. Not sure why.

Thanks again for updating the script, Tin.

layer effects that is what I still miss, can you sometimes deliver that to me, and also tell me where to install it because I'm not that handy in those things.
