Thanks Issabella.
I did have my issues with this script, but all's well that ends well.

very nice Wallace... a few in the water would look cool too.

Good idea Molly.
I did think of doing that after the fact, but didn't make it so.

Thought a few twinkles in the water near and around the moon area would set it off.

I'm not sure what difference the min pulse value makes. I ran the script with default settings and then with all of the pulse values set at 100 and they don't seem any different to me. I also set them at 255 (max value) and there was no pulsing at all.

Here's another image.

Wallace That is a nice sunset.
'O' the 'Minimum Pulse Value' refers directly to to the minimal opacity of the Pulse ,see initial post
With Update1 new Settings 'Min Pulse Value' has been Added to assist you with these setting
remember the 'Min Pulse Opacity'= Min Pulse Value/2.55

Thanks, Graechan. Now I know what you are talking about. I didn't realize it referred to opacity.

This image below demonstrates how different size stars with different minimum pulse settings look

Wallace and 'O' I just added this to the Initial Post to help everyone understand the 'Minimum Pulse Value' setting

Thanks Graechan.
I'm kind of partial to the smaller sparkles anyway.

The small sparkles also have 'Minimum Pulse Value' also

Thanks, Graechan. That makes it very clear.

Well Graechan, you probably would have expected this one. I got a bit ambitious though and tried fixed stars, pulsing stars, flashing bridge lights and also to simulate the water moving gently at the same time, but it still needs more work to get it looking any better and its time for bed! Still here it is ...

Excellent work oldmangrumpy.

Thank you Odinbc but this one has really got to me - suddenly woke up at 5.30 this (Sunday!) morning, realising at least four things I had done 'wrong' in creating this image. Good thing though is that I will have another attempt.

OMG you could try saving as APNG for a smoother looking animation

just a simple (?) request from a non-super-pc user:
is there a possibility to increase performances before official release?
entering the max value (400) on all sparkle sizes, on an image 800*800 it takes on my PC (win-7 32bits 4GB ram core intel I5) around 20 minutes (more or less a second per sparkle...)
as such, I have to consider it unusable (for users like me, of course)
thanks
