I didn't do any duplicates, and I should have! Mine is not as opaque as it could be.

What is strange is the script i have uses the text not the background.
It worked in my tests perfectly in Gimp-2.6.12 portable.
Create a new document - create your new transparent layer with a shape or text -select the transparent or text layer - run the script - there is no need to make a selection or delete the bg layer.
Did you guys delete the old script or remove it from the scripts folder?

Thu Aug 30, 2012 5:13 pm
Yep. I deleted the old one first.

I never had the old one. I am using Partha's latest McGimp 2.8, if that makes any difference.

The Gimp-2.6.12 script is for use in Gimp-2.6.12
The Gimp-2.8 script is for use in Gimp-2.8

Unless the PDB is different between portable and the actual install version the script should work.
I just tried it again and it worked fine for me.Just to be sure i have zipped the same script i have in my scripts folder and attached it here.
Just unzip the folder and inside is the script.Place that in the scripts folder (remove the old one first)

I'm beginning to think it might just be my computer or my Gimp. Spiral path is the only Ofnuts script that my Gimp will register. I very very sadly can't use his other scripts. Nobody else seems to have this problem. I'll try yours once more anyway. Thanks.

Not a problem.

I have actually re-written the gimp-2.6 script again. This time it utilizes spread for the messiness value.
I took warp completely out as it just doesn't seem to achieve the same results as the Gimp-2.8 version.
Plus the results are more vivid and darker, and it works in both Gimp-2.6 and Gimp-2.8 versions.
By the way this will not interfere with the other crayon script. You can leave both installed as this new one calls a different registry name.
Try this one out.Let me know how you like it.

I myself like the first one better (for gimp-2.8)
It just looks more like crayon to me.

I tried the new on on mcgimp. It now works with having the background layer in the stack. I can't decide which I like better, though. The old one seemed to have a more multi-shaded look but it could be my imagination.

2-ton if you are using Gimp-2.7 Mac version you should use the first one i posted (very first thread of this topic) -
viewtopic.php?f=9&t=5049#p62962That one is for Gimp-2.8 and should work fine for you.
All the rest of the script links i posted are for Gimp-2.6.

Works beautifully Rod. I'd prefer a bit more texture but I'm not complaining.

Cool Eris, nice and fuzzy. I love fuzzy.

Thanks Mo. Maybe the crayon had some fluff stuck to it.

erisian: what a difference from what i get with the first version of the script (the first rod posted, i use it with 2.8, haven't tried it on the portable) - you could make some mean muppets with that

i'm a bit in love with this crayon sript, it's like getting a bit of my childhood back. today it inspired me to make some naivistic text art from a song:

Wow, AnMal, that is totally cool.

both versions work with my mcgimp 2.8. , there are just slight differences in how they end up looking.

Both versions will work in Gimp-2.8, but only the Gimp-2.6 version will run in Gimp-2.6.
The one looks different (Gimp-2.6 version), because i had to change the way it warps the text fill.
This is also the reason there is little texture.I will work on that and see if i can make it better Erisian.
That is a pretty cool crayola house AnMal.
