Just a comment.
While for Spider Paint I was of the opinion that the limitation of having some transparency was a bit...user unfriendly, for Fan Illusion I consider that prerequisite quite correct, for the purpose of the filter.
I prepared my Q&D version only for ... lazy people.

Test of the standard version:

which I like having transparent BG both on the source and on the final result.

Not yet.
Maybe later today.
But in any case I do not know what was the expected result when released.

Having seen the old thread about it, my natural answer is NO, the outcome should be different.
But it's not easy to read the complex code of Brian, hence I can't help.
Is it possible that that filter was a predecessor of Spider Paint?
In this case no value in actualizing it.

Hi
Here is another of Brian Anderson's plug-ins. Photomaster Blocks
It does not work properly and also brings up a black screen.
Here is what I end up with.
Hope someone can fix it please.

thank you for fixing this.
I did find I had to remove script 2028_mhbevel3d.scm
It was interfering with the 3d bevel supplied in the folder.

Very good P1937.
Scripts bevel3D.scm this is repaired 2028_mhbevel3d.scm (also not worked for Gimp 2.10).

YES, I confirm, it's the predecessor step of Spider Paint. Re-discovered my post when I suggested to Brian to change the name. See post #31 of the Plasmatic thread you pointed.

Hi Diego.

I read it carefully - that's why I asked You.
I thought similarly - only no parameter in the GUI overlaps (and the result is different).
So I decided to post it with small changes.

BA_Plasmatic

viewtopic.php?f=11&t=15362&hilit=plasmatic

My changes:
1. Add Auto White Balance (gimp_drawable_levels_stretch)
2. Add option: brightness, contrast.
3. Replace PF_SLIDER to PF_SPINNER.

Yes, Brian's mental process during "Spider Paint" creation was very long and full of changes of directions.
I see the results are different, still "Plasmatic" looks as a "sub-assembly" of the final Spider Paint, and I thought it were better to stick to Brian's decision to come up at the end to Spider Paint, but this is only my opinion.

BA Conbagui Caramel-Chocolate-Vanilla Text V.2.py

The plugin requires additional gradients and LayerFX.scm.
I changed the concept of the plugin a bit to adapt it to the Gimp-2.10 capabilities.
