What a nice effect, Dinasset. I like it a lot.

Thanks Issabella.
You know I'm a fan of "mosaic" textures, I found this one among the G'mic test filters of Samj and I tried to get my best from it.

One image i was playing around with text and other filters and just applied yours
the other is from a photo I took a few years ago

Thank you so much Dinasset and Leftyleo.
Leftyleo, thanks for your contributions. Mosaic Effect is one of the most preferred by Dinasset and he has many more nice mosaic filters. This one is really good.

Thanks Leftyleo for your contribution. Maybe your first image used has too flat colour areas which did not generate mosaic tiles.
Wonderful show, Issabella, you have a special talent in identifying the most suitable images t work with. Thanks.

Warning for the testers of the filter:
- a
s for other filters the top layer, even if in Normal mode, does not correspond well to the generated outcome seen combining the underlaying layers as per default (I will have to find a solution): the lines of the mosaic tiles get a bit confused.Hence
do not activate it (unless you want to create customized effects).
I guess that Leftyleo did activate the top layer in his trials.
An example:
- what you see if you use the default settings (top unvisible)
- Outcome-per-defaults.jpeg (1.86 MiB) Viewed 362 times
- what you see if you activate the top layer
- Outcome-if-you-activate-top-layer.jpeg (1.17 MiB) Viewed 362 times

I will try to find a solution.
Sun Mar 20, 2022 1:02 am
I guess I found the solution:
- here the outcome activating the top layer AFTER HAVING APPLIED A MODIFICATION TO THE PROCESS.
- Outcome-if-you-activate-top-layer_AFTER-A-CHANGE-IN-THE-PROCESS.jpeg (1.83 MiB) Viewed 362 times
This was my attempt (successful):
- do not create the final outcome layer BEFORE having re-scaled all the layer to fit with the user chosen size
- create instead the final outcome ONLY AFTER re-scaling

I send the updated test version to Issabella and Leftyleo, the two gentle testers.

Thanks Dinasset. The little problem with upper layer is solved. Great!

Diego -
Yes thats what i did -- i exported the very top layer but with all the others off.
[ scratching head ]
- am going back to try a few more
Sun Mar 20, 2022 11:50 am
Here is my triple :
- The original (pixabay)
- The default result (with the top most eye off)
and
- The last with the top eye off (as recommended) , and Preprocessed overlay layer for light Off, and plasma off (i wanted to see more original color in this image even though the plasma looks really nice here as well )

The other problem that i seem to have is that i am using two monitors .. the images look better on one but very different on the laptop. the posted images look darker and less saturation on the laptop.
I wish i knew what it looks like to you.

Hi Leftyleo,
I took your source image (downloaded from Gimpchat where you posted it) and run the filter with defaults.
My outcome is different from your second image posted (which you said is the default outcome) , it continues looking with imperfect tiles separator, like the previous version activating the top: why that?
