(This rough painting effect invites IMO the user to test some post-process steps for customization)

Looks great - i am really liking this one.  depending on the amount of detail is which level works best 
i tried all three on each of three pics and chose the one i liked the best..
they were different levels of options -- Fine looks great but keeps more detail.
if you want more fast painting the basic or regular looks better. - It depends on the desired result

i havent tried any post processing,  yet

Very nice results, Leftyleo and Dinasset. I agree with Leftyleo according the intensity in details, so the three options.
About the final light look, I see that each image requires its way.
