From time to time I prepare some small ancillary filters, which are too simple to be worth an official release under "GIMP Scripts & Plug-ins". Hence I decided to create here a common thread where to post them. Today I prepared: What does it? It finds the average hue of the source image, creates a duplicate layer, colorizes it using that hue. Here it is: OverlayHUE Attachment: _________________________________________________________________________________ Edit: I tought it could be useful to maintain here the ongoing list of the released small filters with the link ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2-Max Pixel Colour see post # 3 3-Evidence of Selected Area see post # 7 4-Nuanced Levels see post #21 5-Enhance Skins see post #27 6-RotatingRGBColours see post #29 7-GraphicaABC see post #46 8-LookAtAllModes see post #56 9-ChildishPaint see post #59 10-ChildishEngrave see post #63 11-ChildishIntarsio see post #78 12-Leave1Hue see post #92 13-Only2Hues see post #103 14-AddStructure see post #104 15-EasyQBist see post #114 16-AddStructure2 see post #161 17-BrumalEffect see post #172 18-EasyVoronoi see post #192 19-MontageOfAllLayers see post #270 20-MetallizedSimple&Montage see post #272 21-FunnyCurves see post #334 22-GradientPaint see post #347 23-SmartSharpening see post #415(final edition) 24-MultiScaledCrystals see post #431 (initial); see post #452 (enhanced version); 25-PlusColourContrast see post # 459 26-MultiColouredParticles see post # 480 (initial); see post #491 (enhanced version) 27-WaterPastelPoster see post # 514 28-ColouredEmboss see post # 541 29-ColouredDoubleEngrave see post # 588 30-CrazyDrawOnDark see post # 630 31-EasyGlamour see post # 653 32-GradientMapping see post # 665 33-TextureSharpen see post # 678 ...and that's all |

Today I prepared another small ancillary filter: MaxPixelColour What does it? It finds the max "colour" value of each pixel in the source image, and places them in a duplicate layer, set to OVERLAY (default at 50.0). To limit (not avoid) the distinction of the pixel values by a difference of just +1 or -1, it reduces preliminarly the values to the corresponding 1/16 of the original value. Then classifies the pixel into one of 7 classes: Red, Green, Blue, Yellow, Cyan, Magenta, White depending on the max values found in R, G, B and replaces the source pixel with the max value(s), in the duplicated layer. Finally applies a large blur to limit local pixellation. Here it is: Attachment:

Examples of MaxPixelColour. I deliberately choose the same images so that you can see the different effect by using this one or the OverlayHUE. Thanks Rod for your appreciation. They are small and simple but could be useful with certain images or to obtain specific "intensity" of colours. |

Another small ancillary filter: EvidenceOfSelectedArea What's its purpose? To put in evidence the area selected by the user (a selection is needed) by: - lightening it, if the area is dark - darkening it, if the area is light plus an optional contour. Here it is: Attachment:

You have been keeping busy! Nice filters. Sorry I won't be downloading them just yet. My pc is not up to it and a lot of the scripts/filters I already have (glut) are not working due to my pc misbehaving. Nothing against your filters. I just need a new one. |

Thanks for your comment, Sallyanne. Hope you can get soon your new PC, not to feel like having your hands tied. I say it for yourself, your daily activity on line, not for being able to install my filters...ehehe. |

Never tought about text, nice finding! Thanks racer-X. And thanks PM and 2-ton for the positive comments: these filters are little "toys" to use from time to time. |
