....Plastic Wrap script-fu is? Both no longer work in GIMP 2.10x (don't error out; just either gives no change (Fencepost) or a black layer (Kward). Any help appreciated. :)

If you have the sources (xxx.scm) please post them here (I don't have them).
Maybe someone can have a look into them.

Fencepost's Plastic Wrap all layers uses DIVIDE-MODE and SCREEN-MODE

script for 2.10 fix is turn them into LAYER-MODE-DIVIDE-LEGACY and LAYER-MODE-SCREEN-LEGACY.

Here's the updated version for GIMP 2.10

Thanks Tran; will try it out shortly. Below's a posted link to Karl's plastic wrap Script-fu for what it's worth, Diego. :)

Well, I still don't see any change when I run FP's script-fu Tran. Not sure what the issue is. I see some things happening while the script runs, but in the end, I get the original image back. Maybe I'm just not using the Script-fu right; only have one layer when I run it. :)

Lyle, the KW filter as is gives nothing (= a black layer, as you say), and I can't understand the logic of the procedure, so I can't help (it's quite a bit of time I do not manage .scm filters).
Hope someone else can help you.
Sorry...

Well, since I deleted the GIMP 2.8 uninstaller (believe that was the solution someone posted), I still have both GIMP 2.8x and 2.10x running without any issues. Don't plan on hosing GIMP 2.8x any time soon, Diego. lol

:)

Tried also the fp filter (TT version), as you say: no changes.
Sorry again.

imo the G'MIC 'Relief Light' filter is much closer to the Photoshop 'Plastic Wrap' that was emulated by this script

That's odd, I tested it by running the unchanged script and see that there was no changes and when i ran my changed version there was changes. hmmm.

I am running GIMP 2.10.0 flatpak on Ubuntu btw. Not sure if that makes a difference or not.

Karl Wards plastiwrap script.

Packing this one in before it drives me crazy ;) Too old to get interested other than a little gentle-hacking.

This a comparison between 2.8 and 2.10

Something in the way the layer modes are handled but not sure. Not the identical effect but maybe it will come in handy someday.

Yup; the new plastic wrap works (a bit strong, but I can work with that). Thanks, Rich. Sorry for the belated reply; just got back home from work. :)
