Hi guys, I'm looking for a glass filter/plugin. It can be for Gimp 2.8x or higher. I know there is such a thing at GMic, but I don't like to install it, especially since I usually have a portable version of Gimp running. It's about an effect that looks like in the picture below. You could try this one viewtopic.php?f=9&t=14511 but the result very much depends on the original image. |

Pocholo, you're my hero! I have tried the script and I could experience interesting things with it. Now I can finally make some decent gold (foil) in Gimp. Sincerely yours |

Ask Dinasset. I know he wrote a glass frame program and one of the choices was textured glass. He had a version for those who did not have g'mic. I think it is 2.8. |

I haven't made gold foil yet, but the script has already served me well with watermelons! The whole thing is also available as a current tutorial on my website (use the translator, bottom right). I hope I was allowed to offer the script for download (Edit: Ah, I found the license agreement in the source code. All's well ) Best regards

I made a special version of my filter Glass Frame Effects in python which does not use G'mic. viewtopic.php?f=9&t=14962&start=0&hilit=Repository+Special+Editions+dinasset%27s+filters posts 7 to 10. I think it's still running on 2.8 (PS: you need a running layerfx.py, which is a pre-requisite) |
