Download Lined Paths Plug-in: https://www.gimplearn.net/viewtopic.php/GIMP-Python-Fu-Scripts-Plug-ins/Lined-Paths-Plug-in?f=3&t=2038 More examples: Drawing a flower with the Lined-paths plug-in (mini tutorial by Ella): https://www.gimplearn.net/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=2051&sid=8d59f92edc631b8902a3b8e398014abe#p22970 Very inspiring and the results depend on our imagination. Thanks to Tin for a great and interesting plugin - and only one question (request) - was it possible to have a new version with an output (as an option) of new paths instead of a drawing ?

Thanks Tin for this nice plug-in. And Thanks MareroQ for opening this thread. I want to share these results using "Lined Paths" ![]()

Interesting... I exported as a merged path in svg format, imported into blender and rendered this outcome... Attachment: line_path.jpg [ 897.09 KiB | Viewed 12062 times ] |

I have been having an absolute binge on Tin's terrific plug-in at GL, but thought posting a couple of images here may encourage some 'Gimp Chatters' to play with it too. Also posted some hints on its usage in the plug-in thread. As MareroQ said above the only limitation is our imagination.

Cool stuff and thanks for sharing the link, Mareo and thanks for the plugin, Tran. I get an error after running this one, but it still works which is all that matters to me. ![]()

Used shape path's scriptfu to create the stars and rotated and shrunk one of the star paths before running trans plugin. I then horizontally flipped a duplicate result and blended to taste. ![]()

I did this one playing between a square and a half circle, plus a flower in the center.

Yes, Lyle. Glad to see you joining the Lined Paths group. I find it a lot of fun, even though most of the time I really am sure I don't know what I am doing! Issabella, another beautiful design from you. Beautiful work. I do have one for here today! Attachment: Tin Tran.Lined Paths. Design.jpg [ 570.19 KiB | Viewed 5229 times ] |

Version 5 uploaded just now. For creating paths instead of drawing, if you want to create curved Bezier paths instead of straight lines (please see instructions (for using control points). You'll be able to to control curved paths like below basically, in addition to the 2 paths (anywhere below them) create paths named 'control 1' and 'control 2') I guess to have a good idea of what the curved paths will look like, you could always try to draw one path manually (to be deleted later) and move the control points around to see what kind of curve it produces then move your 'control 1' and 'control 2' to the appropriate locations and then use the script. ![]() ![]() |

Thanks for the new version 5 - it works well for me - only very difficult to predict the effect. There are never too many new possibilities, so returning to "Drawing a flower with the Lined-paths plug-in _ Ella" I tried to automate the turnover for paths. I only found the Vectors Copy Rotate Shift.scm script that works well for individual paths or shapes. For lined_paths it works only for the "first" path and not for the entire result - can You achieve (in another plugin) cyclical rotation / shift of the entire result (or just remains the use of the rotation tool)?
