@Skinnyhouse A very interesting and versatile plugin for the metal effect. A lot of options (I have tried probably 1% for now). Understandably, it was created for Custom Font and when the layer name is not a letter, this is a message: UnboundLocalError: local variable 'first_char_layer_name' referenced before assignment Hence the request: - generic version (Alpha to Logo) for any layer name, - save the settings used in any option: as a new layer, as a txt file (e.g. like Apply and Save/Load Preset Script for Layer Effects by TT)

Thank you M. Yes, as you say, it is only intended for Custom Fonts and I was hoping that no-one would look under the hood before the next version so that I could tidy up the rather wasteful code. It was created, with the smaller character image size in mind, and so I am not sure about its effectiveness when working with larger images - ie banding, artifacts etc. I normally rename any non-character layer to custom font convention e.g. A.png if I want to use a custom font plug-in for other purposes - but a suitable option is quite feasible. Not familiar with TTs text file presets although I did use something in my Lighting Effects custom font plug-in - so I will have a look when I get a chance. |

Thank you for the quick reply. It's always worth waiting for a good plugin (even for a long time...). |

Attachment: One for you MareroQ: This seems to work on the active layer - not tested it much - in non-custom font mode if you set the last option to No. Attachment: Dialog1b.jpg [ 94.32 KiB | Viewed 6625 times ] |

No probs. Although I have just found and sorted problems with the verdigris texture with the active layer option. In your version it works correctly only when a texture layer is above the active layer in the layer stack. |
