Besides Gimp 2.10 I also use 2.8 (sometimes I like the results better). I want the file below to work in Gimp 2.8 ... would anyone want to take a look at it.

As far as I can see the original never got past Gimp 2.6 The attached, somewhat modified for Gimp 2.8 looks like this:

The inset is the example from https://kikidide.yuki-mura.net/GIMP/gimp2.htm

Menu entries are File -> Create -> Logos -> Transplastic & Filters -> Alpha to Logo -> Transplastic
Changed the default font to Sans.
Not much checking done on the options. The usual guarantee, there is none.

When trying to use this script from Filters ->Alpha To Logo,

I get this error:

When running the script from File->Create->Logos->Transplastic,

I get this error:

This script doesn't work in gimp 2.10.22 with Windows 10.

Did not read the post which says - The attached, somewhat modified for Gimp 2.8 looks like this:

This script has previous, from 2008: viewtopic.php?p=108 there might even be a version of the script somewhere on Gimpchat, I do not know.

My interest is more historical, It comes from a GUG (Gimp User Group) tutorial https://web.archive.org/web/20091204155 ... als/ronq2/

Not a 100% sure that the script is completely adaptable for Gimp 2.8 / 2.10 there is section that applies a alpha color-curve that is a bit dubious. It could do with a complete re-write, not a tweak.

However, already 'tweaked' a Gimp 2.10 version, attached.

Ahh..a bit more time today, thinking a bit better and that script had a re-write by GnuTux.

https://web.archive.org/web/20160428075 ... t-v1-4.zip

edit:...and of course it has been added to the new repository https://www.gimpscripts.net/2020/09/gla ... -text.html

Quick test and that works with both Gimp 2.8 and 2.10 script attached

Post subject:  Re: mh. transpla.scm/glas effect... solved

I had made these last year with the transpla. scm file. I wanted to use it again now but unfortunately it works more. Would anyone like to take another look?
