Post subject: | My Experiments On GMIC Testing filters: Simple Graphics (now 14) |
During the last period I spent some time in playing with the filters which appear under: GMIC/Testing, and the same I'll do in the near future. Once I find an effect which I consider interesting (in my opinion) I create a small filter. From time to time I'll post here samples of these "Simple Graphics" (as I call them in my pocket). As you know, I'm a "filter man", therefore I do not create anything manually, as others do. So a filter is always behind my samples, but I'll not automatically post the filter itself. Only if at least one person here -having looked at the effect and being interested in it- asks for it, I will post the filter. Not to create useless pieces of software. They are simple and can be considered as "sub-assemblies" for further development or further manual additions. Let's go. The first set of GMIC Testing filters I have taken into consideration is that created by Samj, who has IMO a native strong sense of aesthetics, thus often her test filters provide good material, i.s. parts, for my sub-assemblies. Should she have a look to my creations, she probably will considered all or most of them as heretical uses. I beg her pardon in advance. |

This is the first "Simple Graphics": "Chalk me". It makes use of samj's Test Mauvais Contours. Dinasset, those images are really good. In color or B&W results are awesome. Thanks for sharing your experiments and tries. Thre is much time invested in each style. |

Very interesting as results Dinasset. Is it possible to reduce the thickness of the contours? |

Yes Dinasset, I prefer the 3 last one. Is it also possible in coloured outcomes ? |

What I think ... the images are nicer, cleaner and I like them a lot more! I accept your proposal Dinasset and I will be happy to play with the filter. . |

Thanks, Lula. I sent the filter to your e-mail for testing. If you will approve it, after your plays, I will later publish it on Gimpchat. |

Dinasset - I also like the results in post #9 black and white and the results in #11 - the colors and lines are amazing i think some of my old photos of nature / clouds / forest / buildings might have some life restored artistically with this method |

Well, it seems that this simple filter is getting appreciations. First Lula (who also suggested improvements), then Issabella, now LeftyLeo. Thus, I share it to GC public. Attachment: Beware, it's a very simple process, hence it could easily require personal adjustments. Particularly if the image is crowded with details. The easiest is to change the mode and/or the opacity of the top visible layer: - instead of "multiply" you may choose "screen" or "hardlight" - opacity can be reduced to any value between 0 and 99, looking at the resultant effect Anyhow, enjoy it. Thanks a lot to samj who did publish this filter "Test Mauvais Contours" under Gmic/Testing |
