Aura is technically an inner glow and outer glow being applied together with a cubism noise seed. Outerglow is based on normal drop shadow with cubism. Nothing special. Inner Glow is invert transparency + color and color removal + drop shadow. Together they make the aura flame effect. An internal mosaic is even present to make the filter more interesting. It can do a secret shape outline. |

If there is transparency you can use Gimp's union composite mode so linear light applies on a transparent background. There is no way for GEGL to auto set Gimp's union composite mode. I wish there was though. |
