This is the last version available of MM, repacked to include many additional plugins and to be compatible also with Gimp-2.7
(32 bit only, tested on Partha builds)

I can't make a installer neither help for Gimp-2.7 at 64bit (and i fear nobody else can, is too complex to compile ) but installing is not too complex

To install in gimp 2.6 (any version including the Portable or GimPainter )

Download the 2.6-MM.7zip

1 open the zip, should see 2 folders inside
2 folder mathmap go in your gimp user folder
3 for the other folder, copy everything is inside, and paste in your plugin folder
(or MUCH better put all the folder inside "plug-ins and add its path in gimp preferences from gimp/edit/preferences/folder)
as explained in this video)

www.youtube.com Video from : www.youtube.com

to install in Gimp 2.7(32 bit) standard or portable .. download 2.7_MM_32bit.7zip

1 open the zip you will see 2 folders
2 folder mathmap go in your gimp user folder
3 for the other folder, copy everything is inside, and paste in your plugin folder
(or even better put all the folder inside "plu-ins and add its path in gimp preferences from gimp/edit/preferences/folder)
If any doubt on how add the path in preference look the video

For Gimp-2.7.x (32bit) users:

1) Each time you will use MM a warning will pop out, it is a harmless warning no a error message so just ignore it
2) the Only difference with the 2.6 pack are some additional dll, that were in gimp 2.6 but no more in gimp 2.7

PS if you use Linux and you want grab the (many) additional filters:
download 1 of the 7zip , open, look in the "mathmap" folder.
Copy the "expressions" folder
now go in your gimp user directory, find the "mathmap" folder and replace or overwrite the "expressions" subfolder there

OK, I tried your trick and that got rid of the duplicated 2.6 folder from my F drive. I placed the "Mathmap" folder from the zip file in my user/2.6 folder and the MM I edited the preferences to point to the new "MM_Add_2_plig-ins" folder from the zip file in my user 2.6/plug-ins folder. Mathmap shows up under Filters>Generic>Mathmap>Mathmap but then there is nothing else there. No guts just the shell.

By "Plug-ins folder" Which one did you mean...user/2.6 on C drive or gimp 2.O on F drive?

Clicking MathMap/MathMap a interface show up ?
Then if you click "filter" tab a filter list show up ? you may expand the list and chose 1 ?
and last if you click "user value" tab you see the controls for the filter ?

That too weird.
Maybe some download problem?
Open the mathmap folder in the user profile (not in plug-ins) did you see a "expressions" folder there ?
and a lot of subfolder inside ?

Another thing you may try is copy the CONTENT of the MM "share" folder (is in the MM subfolder inside plug-in ) and paste inside gimp/program files/share.

Draconian is your "2.6" folder the one you created to replace gimp-2.6? (user folder), in the F drive?
If you have a gimp-2.6 folder in your user folder in C directory place the folder there.
Gimp is going to check your variables on load.If it sees HOME - C:\Documents and Settings\UserFolder it will grab the folder from there and load (initialize) everything (exe) in it.

Long story short Gimp looks for GimpDirectory-2 in the home folder.
You could switch this on the fly using the same method i used to keep Adaptable Gimp from using the gimp-2.6 folder for gimp-2.6.11
Just create a batch file to exe every time you load Gimp from F drive.
have the batch file "set" F drives user folder as the new HOME directory.
Gimp on launch of the bat file will open and look for its extra stuff in the F drive after that.
But you will always have to execute it from the batch file.No big deal just create a shortcut to your desktop from it and change the icon to wilbur. After clicking it you will get a command window -then you just need to type in gimp-2.6.exe and hit enter on your keyboard.Gimp will launch using the new HOME variable set in the batch file. :)

Rod,

If you look at one of my posts above that shows the preferences paths you will see that it points to the C user 2.6 where the MM_Add_2_plug-ins is located. The screenshots below shows the tree where everything is installed. I never did get my previous question answered by PC regarding which plug-ins folder it was supposed to go in. Anyhoo...you can see how it is configured at present.

You lost me at "batch file". I'm not quite that accomplished to be able to do that. You'll have to walk me thru it if we can't get this solved otherwise.

I just drilled down into every folder and notices that there was nothing in the expressions folder. PC said there was supposed to be a lot of subfolders inside. What am I missing? While I'm waiting for an answer I'm gonna check all these different zip files and see if the "Expressions" content is in there somewhere.

I told you

1) move away both gimp user folder (don't rename ,just move somewhere else )
2) reload gimp
3) now the gimp has created again a .gimp user folder in the right place,
i can't guess wich of the 2 ,but you can see: you have only 2 place to check !!
4) if you have your addon in the 2 folder(s) that you moved away
just move back them back ACCEPTING OVERWRITING

if they were empty you may just delete both

###########################################################

I see you doing several errors as you was distracted

1) Instead then ADD the path in preference you REPLACED 1 of the default path !

2) you use gimp.2.6 but you downloaded and installed the 2.7 package

By the way PC 2.7 works excellent. :)
I even get the filter list now without going to the folder to retrieve them.

Awesome!

Thanks.

PC - I did exactly as you said and moved everything to a backup folder on my desktop and started fresh. I downloaded the 2.6_MM.7z zip and placed the folders exactly as you said. I restored the original default path in preferences as well. Now Mathmap doesn't even show up.

Please look at the paths at the top of the folder screenshots and tell me if that is correct and if the paths in preferences are both correct.

NO are no correct
You did well to restore the path
But you didn't add the third one, the new one for the MM folder , remember 2 are the DEAFAULT path but you may add as many you wish

Please look the screenshoot....First click the icon folder indicated by the arrow then do as you did before

Take the MM_ADD_To_Plugins folder out of there and ONLY place what is inside that folder in the plug-ins folder. :)
OR open Gimp and create a path to it from Edit/Pref/Folders/Plugins

Easier to just remove that folder as i said above though.

Draconian you have 1 user gimp-2.6 folder that Gimp recognizes.
Do this - go to start/control panel and click system/click the advanced tab/click environment variables
Look for a VARIABLE in the bottom list named HOME
To the right of that variable is the VALUE or PATH that is your home directory which Gimp looks for.
That path i am sure is C:\Documents and Settings\Rod (Rod being your username)

That is where Gimp Directory Two is placed on Gimp Load.(if its been removed or deleted it is created new - default)
There are two confirmed places you can place the CONTENTS of the MM_ADD_TO_PLUGINS folder.
1) F:\Gimp-2.0\lib\gimp\2.0\plug-ins

OR

2) C:\Documents and Settings\Rod\.gimp-2.6\plug-ins

The mathmap folder COMPLETE has to go into the C:\Documents and Settings\Rod\.gimp-2.6 folder.

That will work for you i am positive. :)

UUUGGGHHH! It's 5:00 am and my eyes are still blurry.

MareroQ - I got rid of redundant "mathmap" sub-folder (had a feeling that wasn't right but that's what happened when I unzipped the files, even after selecting which files I wanted to unzip. Did it twice to be sure)

Rod - I got rid of the MM_Add_2_plugins folder and only placed contents in C\:Documents and Settings\Dave\gimp 2.6\plug-ins folder. I checked the Environment Variables and didn't see anything called "Home" but I think it's OK as is.
I looked at the preferences and they seem to be ok (unless I'm still to sleepy to see anything)

I opened an image gave it an alpha channel went to mathmap and selected several items but when the window came up the preview was blank(looked like an alpha layer). When I went to "Drost" I got the black preview window and all these little square thingys. Your turn guys. Your patience is greatly appreciated and we are making progress it seems.

Drac the path you added to mathmap folder in the plugins path selector is not viable (Gimp doesn't understand it) Remove that path please. :)
C:\Documents and Settings\Dave\.gimp-2.6\mathmap <---- remove this (mathmap folder directory isn't a plugin)

@Draconian

You did again :hoh , again you installed the 2.7 version of MM instead than the 2.6 :gaah

How you can confuse 2.7 with 2.6 ? .could you suggest something i may do to minimize the chances that someone else will do a similar confusion ??

The GOOD NEW is that will work the same even if basically for pure luck:
the 2.7 pack is compatible with 2.6 (NOT the contary)
... BUT you should take care of similar details because similar unexpectable errors make very difficult for others help you

I don't understand what it is that you see in the screenshots that tells you I downloaded the wrong zip. can you be more specific. The file I downloaded from your previous post here was this one:

2.6_MM_32bit.7z

I have checked the contents of that zip against the files on my computer and they look the same to me.
What is it that you see that indicates a 2.7 install?
