i started working with the Clone Layer Tool script (which is very very good !)
http://registry.gimp.org/node/25422

and then discovered you can make very easily 3D text with it
(http://www.gimpdome.com/text-effect/3d-text-in-gimp/)

now what would be great if there was a script that does the same as the Clone Layer Tool, but with paths
what i want to do is: move and scale a path made from text

searched the registry but found nothing

any ideas ?

Possible solution: my path-inbetweener script will interpolate intermediate paths between two paths, so you would only have
to provide the first and last (that would here be a scaled version of the first).

exactly what i need, ofnuts

thanks a bunch for your help !

EDIT:

here is my first experiment with the script

turned the text into a path, duplicated and then scaled down by 85% (center of both paths aligned)
the 3D extrusion consists of 17 steps, each filled individually with a color from the grays palette
