OK, did it. I think it takes a small amount of obsessive insanity to do it. Plus I had to think sideways and backwards.

I'm attaching the zipped pat files if someone wants to try them. You will have to do your bling manually because the alternating opacity stars are not included in the script yet. Hopefully Tux will like them and include them in the script.

That is fantastic, O. It's exactly what I had in mind. I'll add it to the script in the next release.

Thank you, Tux. Wait before you add them. I see a couple places where some of the stars are next to each other and on the same fade pattern. Don't know if I can fix them but going to try.

Some of the other animations need some tweaking, as well. I'll wait until we get the all the patterns like we want them before issuing the next release. I have a few ideas for some new animations but will need to test them to see if they actually work like I have envisioned.

Animation worked when I tried it in gimp playback. I saved it as a .gif. What's wrong? It doesn't look to be working for me.

these would look great in a space picture! Is there a way to have the stars farther apart with transparent background, to overlay a space scene background?

There was a script that extended a layer to image size. You would probably have to do each layer though. Pretty big job with that script.

Here is Fenceposts's All Layers to Image Size script.

It's in the layers right-click menu and all visible layers are made image size.

Thanks Oregonian. Does it re-scale the layers? he other does, but not a great result.

If the layer boundary sizes are different from the image size, it changes the boundaries to image size.

i.e.: Image size = 300 x 300px, Layer Boundary = 200 x 200px, it changes the boundary to 300 x 300px.

It works the same if you right-click a layer and select layer to image size, except the script does it for all of the layers.
