Just to summarize the three steps of this beautiful script ( or what I understood)
pls correct me for any error

1. new image 640x480 filled with blue color ( or otherone but not B&W)
2. Script-Fu>Effects>Stepped Chisel with these settings

Image

YOU HAVE THE FIRST TYPE OF CREATION WITH THIS SCRIPT

3. return the foreground color in black
4. with the text toll ( size 70, adj, letter spacing 30) write "GIMP" and merge down

Image

5. with the select by color tool select the GIMP text
6. in the menu Select>Grow 20
7. Script-Fu>Effects>Stepped Chisel with these settings

Image

THIS IS THE SECOND TYPE

8. with the select by color tool select again the GIMP text
9. Script-Fu>Effects>Stepped Chisel with these settings

Image

THIS IS THE THIRD TYPE

here is the final result

Yes, Marcello, I understand this script with those settings as you have. Then this changes the look when you have bigger or smaller size and too about colours.
I think. :)

Marcello, I've added the screen captures so as you can see the settings used in the outcome, just in case it help you.
After writing the text, apply the first settings to the text layer, then keeping the selection of the text - go to Select - invert - select the background layer and apply the other settings. Size of the layer 1600x500. Text at 220ps size. :) :hi5
