I have added Gimpressionist to this effect.

The script is in a text file, so where does it go so it can work?

An easy way to do it,
is to open another .scm file.
Copy the text for this script and past it over the other script's text and save it with the proper script's name.
Then place the newly created .scm file into your scripts folder.

An even easier way is to open the text file,
then save it as a .scm file.
Using the option All Files when saving to change the file extension to .scm.

My thinking must be somewhere else. The script attachment was from last year and I just now realized that I have Rod's script already.

That txt file is probably the Gimpressionist preset anyways. :)

While trying to unclutter my Main Image Menu, I found some scripts that I really love. Here is one of them.

The filter looks great, but doesn't work on my install. I am using 2.8.20 on Windows 7 64bit .

The error says "Procedure execution of plug-in-gimpressionist failed".

I am unable to post any pictures again so I couldn't show the error box.

My zip program supposedly put the preset in C:\Users\PhotoMaster\.gimp-2.8\gimpressionist\Presets directory,
but it wasn't there. When I put it there manually it worked.

Thank You Muchly!

Does this not work in 2.10+? I keep getting an error message about the undo function, and the script crashes.
