New very experimental option: IRREGULARLY SHAPED FRAME (from selection).

Suggested gradient selection type:SHAPEBURST, and a Neon plugin (can be omitted when not satisfied with the effect).
Depending on the selection of or parameters, I am sometimes surprised by the result - so it's probably time for the end of the fun with frames, although there is still one more typical solution ...

This plugin was given a "second life" to apply the fourfold rotation of the pattern by Teapot described.
What came out of it - I invite you to try it here.

Looking at the beautiful semi-transparent frames created on the images in A Joint Venture thread, I also added this possibility (now in Ver.1.1 don't just add to image...).

I don't see Create Border Step By Step in my version of gimp which is gimp 2.10.24. I'm using widows 10 64 bit.

mackenzieh, I have the same version and I have it visible. Have you tried to reinstall it? I hope someone can help you.

I have reinstalled the plugins and they still aren't visible for me. They are not listed under Decor as stated on gimpscripts.net

Are you still following some advice that says put each plugin in its own folder, and maybe add the folder to the plugins paths ?

When you have a problem like yours, go back to basics.

1. Remove what you have "installed"
2. Rename the plugins removing any spaces, unusual characters, keep it simple. Rename to 1.py and 2.py if you want. The plugin will still register in the correct place in the gimp menu.
3. Do not use separate folders, put the plugins straight in C:\Users\"yourname"\AppData\Roaming\GIMP\2.10\plug-ins like this



Do they work, of course they do



If they still do not show, then it is down to running Gimp from a terminal to see if any errors are logged.
Dare I suggest that a bit a clean-out is required.

Rich2005, Yes, I still follow the advice of placing the plugins in separate folders because for me, that is the only way gimp will read them. I didn't say that they didn't work, I said I couldn't view them. I did as you said and the plugins now show up.
