I ran this filter and I wanted the flatten images option but I don't think that's what happened.
This is what I get:

I also received errors when running the filter. I also think wires were crossed: The light option produces the dark outcome while the dark option produces the light outcome. Overall, it's a nice filter.

Thanks for trying it.
1. same as to Nidhogg: the msg is an "info" msg, not an error
2. flatten leaves below the original layer for comparison
3. not true what you say; your snapshot shows at the bottom that you ran the "light" option and you got the "light" effect

I post here the filter again, after having removed the info message, which seems to cause disappointments.

Hmm, it sure doesn't look light. The dark image doesn't even look dark. The light image looks dark, while the dark image looks light.

It depends on the source image, use a source with an average luminosity of about 0.4.
The filter always darken a too light source or lighten a too dark source, before running the effect. Make more than one test.
Thanks

Dinasset and Issabella, again, such a wonderful filter you have created! Your examples show a "soft" beauty. I love that. I hope my computer gets fixed soon. I have missed so much Gimping! I now can get access to a 32 bit Windows 7. Will this filter work on a 32 bit?

Unfortunately I think not, because it is based on 64 bits.

Thanks Dinasset. Your filter is very useful to apply to photos that need to be corrected with a glamour plus, too.
Pat, thanks for your nice comment. I hope you get your computer in complete condition very soon. :bigthup
