Yes, you just need to put these files (keeping the filename) in your %APPDATA folder, and it should be OK.

Where would my %APPDATA folder be? I'm on Windows Vista x64.

Hi there,

I'm happy to announce a new release of the G'MIC plug-in for GIMP, numbered 1.5.1.5.

Will this be updated in Partha's version or should I just install over old version?

Deb,

I will update the useful plugins soon (probably over the weekend) and let you know when it's ready for download.

Application Data folder is a hidden folder in Windows.
In XP i have to go to Tools>Folder Options> tick show all hidden files
Now go to your userfolder and it should be there.

In Parthas portable the files go in the gmic-filtres folder. :)

Deb

even if there are differences between the partha gmic builds and the others, i saw that in practice both work flawlessly in the gimp partha builds .

i continuously update my gmic, running on the partha-samj portable with whatever newer version available and i never had problems

PC, Which is why I don't understand why David insists on treating Windows differently. Only on the Windows platform there is a separate directory under plug-ins which frankly to me is clutter. So, when I build nowadays, I fix the source-code so that a separate directory under Windows is not created.

Thanks,
Partha

The reason I'm asking is: After I installed Sourceforge G'MIC 64-bit I had over 300 filters. Then I ran update and now only have about 102 filters.

I thought something might have gone wrong with Update.

David, as I recalled, recatagorized filters and such and that did reduce the number of filters so you must have upgraded from a G'MIC more then 3 cycles ago mecaherium. :)

Personally i am not disturbed by a gmic subfolder there but since there is that subfolder i would like see used to store the various gmic definition files, so they would be easier to trace and the gmic plugin would be more easily portable

But i already had a discussion about and David preferred a alternative solution ( something to do somewhere, a option not visible in the plugin GUI to change def file location... i can't remember more, because luckily i use your-samj 2.8 portable that take automatically care to keep the gmic def files in a place adapt to portability.

But anyway also other gmic builds works on your gimp build,...i had not recent occasion to try vice versa but when i did just before gimp 2.8 it worked well
