The GMIC Warhol filter is to unpredictable to use in an Alpha-to-Logo Script so I'll have to remove that part

I cleared my cache, refreshed Firefox, and downloaded Rel 3, then opened Gimp. I opened the image I wanted to use in Alpha to Logo Warhol. The image I opened was two layers of the same text.

After I ran the script, the text was black. I moved the bottom text layer to the top. The Warhol layer was a blue rectangle, I turned off that layer. The only thing I changed in the settings were the two drop-downs and I changed those to Pattern. I used the same pattern for both. I checked Keep Layers.

Image

I am attaching the xcf file of the layers.

Very nice Graechan....Is there any way to keep the color of the image? Mine turns black. I had to paint it in again after running the script.

Duplicate the layer first, run the script on the top layer then push the original layer to the top.

graechan: you're working hard here! i'll have to try the new script, but i'm impressed how tame you got the warhol filter :).
sallyanne: do you keep the layers? i got a black contour layer on top of the stack a couple of times yesterday and had to change that by hand. must be frustrating to have these problems with the script when i know you spent so much effort on trying the tutorial!

Thank you Eris.

Edit: tried your idea Eris and it worked. I made a white layer, then opened a new transparent layer...Painted my two Wilbers on that layer...duped it, ran Graechan's filter on top layer. Then I turned off top two layers.

WOO HOO, thank you Graechan for another one of your great scripts.

It didn't matter setting G'MIC to default. It ran the same as before. After downloading release 4 and trying it the same options - success!

Thank you to all who have given Rel4 a try,
the Warhol filter from GMIC was giving some strange results unless presented with the image in a particular way, but I feel I have finally gotten it right :yes

Molly in Rel4 to get this effect should only require you setting the effect opacity to '0'
