'Extrude from Path' Rel2.4 [OK for 2-10 & 2-8]

Didn't make any difference. By the way I did chack all the things out that you mentioned. I just tried to rename my personal folder in hopes of creating a new one. I thought it took all the added scripts over when it created a new one but this time it didn't.

It's obviously me, pity it' s great script , I had it working once before (in a different gimp version). I may have to download another one yet.
Finally did it! I downloaded a new Gimp

Freetype isn't available for gimp 2.10.20

It's strange you say that because I am using it with 2.10.20

The file says 2.8, that's why I didn't download it.

FreeType 2.10 is not available because it's 2.8 version is OK for 2.10, but if you have a 2.10 compiling environment then check the 'c' file and compile. It desperately needs to be upgraded to 'multi-line text'

We know it can't be the script because it has worked in my new Gimp. But it is sporadic. Sometimes works and sometimes throws errors. I didn't have any of my older scripts or plugins and it still threw errors. So I have put them all back.

I tried compiling for Gimp-2.10 and got errors for freetype-config. Missing config file.
I tried compiling in one of samJ's older petite 64 bit 2.8 environments. Also in my own Gimp-2.10 environment. Both had errors.
