There has been no luck Wallace. It's the same behaviour. I've closed Gimp and open again after installing it, and nothing. :(

If there is any kind of extrusion going on then script-fu-compat.init is not the problem. That file contains the "while" macro that's used to loop in the script and I just thought it might be missing, but I was basically grasping at straws. Maybe there is some GIMP default settings that got changed, which might affect the operation of the script. I don't know what settings those could be, though.

Issabella, I can create a test file to hard code the direction values. Maybe that would tell us something.

Thank you so much GnuTux and Wallace for your interest on my problem. I wish you find out something as it's a wonderful useful script. :tyspin

Issabella, Can you test this version of the script with 225 hard coded (up and to the left)? Just use the gimp text file I posted earlier and run using defaults.

Test Script Removed

Geeze, I don't see how it works in all directions now.

Instead of calculating the directional values, I hard coded in the direction values for only one direction (225) in that test script.

Are you sure you are getting different results in all directions?

:oops: It's only one direction. I didn't realise it was the same.

Ok. We are making progress, though. :hehe

That tells me the math that I use to calculate the directions is not consistent from PC to PC. Not sure why that's the case, but there is more than one way to skin a cat.

I'll have another script for you to test in just a bit.

@GnuTux
The problem seems to be the (round x) function is rounding negative values lower than -0.5 up to 0 instead of down to -1.
Hence:
- for angles 0, 45 and 90 (where both cos and sin are positive) it works ok;
- for 135, cos gets rounded up to 0 and it produces the same result as 90;
- for 180, 225 and 270, both cos and sin get rounded to 0, so no extrusion is produced;
- for 315, sin gets rounded to 0 so it produces the same result as 0 or 360.

@Issabella
Can you tell us:
- what sort of PC you're using
- what operating system you're using
- what version of Gimp you're using

I think you're correct, jontait2. The question is why the discrepancy between PC's / GIMP installations?

Recheck your version of GIMP, Issabella. Should be under Help/About.

Right, so it's an Intel i7 based PC running Windows 7 Professional 32-bit and Gimp 2.8.14. Should be no problem.

@GnuTux
I wonder whether Issabella might have a rogue script-fu-xxx.scm in the system directory which re-defines (round x) to round upwards?

GnuTux, I have no idea what you are speaking. I'm going to see if I have some named like that.

Well, that is a possibility, jontait2.

It seems gimper66 was having the same problem and just decided to reinstall GIMP, which fixed the problem for him. That doesn't lead me to what is actually causing the problem. I believe he removed all the .scm scripts from his system, except the extrusion script, but still had the same problem.
