APNG is just a way to save PNG files as animations but with better quality than GIF because PNG supports more colors. The APNG extension also saves with transparency, but the file sizes can get huge. I have heard through the grapevine about a JPEG that will support animation, and transparency being looked at for future browser support.JPEG files are smaller than PNG usually, and support just as many colors. |

Thanks Rob. I thought there was something with a gif being not the best option out there, but again gif is fine. |

I guess I don't understand as usual, but all I come up with are three different images. I don't see the snowflake. How do I pick a different image that I can't see? Thanks |

Save it as a GIF extension.Gimp will launch a dialog with an option to make it an animation.Tick it. Gimp will save the image as an animated GIF in layers. ![]() I have never uploaded animations to Flickr or Facebook so i do not know if you can. You could upload it to another free website host and link to it from there. Many folks will use a free hosting account just for this purpose. Just Google free hosting accounts to find one suitable for your needs. Many free image hosters such as ImageShack and the like, do not allow animations to be saved on their servers. It simply takes up too much room. |

giggles wrote: I upload it on flickr or my facebook can any help me on that or can you just not post animated pics on those sites? Not sure for facebook but i may clear for flickr you may upload animation on flickr BUT animation is displayed only at "original image size":...so not in the gallery view not even in the page view but only when clicking "all size/original size" in the "Action" link above the image BUT luckily there is a workaround. Upload the image Grab from the "Share" menu the html code for the FULL size click to reply and in the reply copy the html code Html code works on many sites but on very few forum..for forum as this here you need the other options in the share dialog the BBcode |

Hard to say about facebook as they change the rules all the time. I used to be able to have animated gifs in 'notes' but then they stopped working. I also used to have stuff rss'd from blogger into facebook notes and now that has been taken away. |

I opened the folder and transfered all the bling files..and that worked fine. My question is could I have put the whole folder into the 'pattern' folder in Gimp, to keep all those particular patterns together...? Thanks again for you help. in 2.8 yes and can be advantages |
