Issabella's post 353 and Dinasset's 359 - show the differences with straight and cross
like most effects it depends on the original image and what look you are going for.
-usually you have to try both and compare

First experimental outcomes.
The texture produced is unusual for an engraving filter (due to the parameters I chose), and the effect quite delicate.
