X2b has much cleaner results
-however the first two images in Issabella's post 392 are interesting, like they are old paintings or tapestries
-So i am going to also keep X2 for experimenting. I think that result might be from the rich reds it has. (?)

X2b looks great .using that same image from before (for comparing)
- first here is a default X2b, it lost the background trees in the center to white
(so i tried a few little things and..)
and then a result using only two layers from the output:
2: a copy of the top most final layer (the one with the date) moved to the top, set to multiply
1: a copy of the Preprocessed Poster layer , set to normal

I forget about C2G and desaturation : post 402 reminded me how nice images look if you do this at the end
Black and white can make animage look striking (thank you Issa for reminding me)

i made three ..light, med (c2g) and a desat. i uploaded the medium one since detail was good and trees showed

Dinasset and Issabella have some great results with X2D - it seems to work very well with different subjects - people, animals, nature, buildings, even a clock (pocketwatch)

Dinasset has worked hard to get such a nice filter so that the user can get the best image to the own liking.

After Issabella's tests, I feel comfortable to release the update of the filter, named X2D.



As explained in an earlier post, at the begnning of our final tests, the new version allows better customization.
In addition to the already present "Blur amount" are now available:
- "Number of colours" you will see the effect just trying first the standard 15 then 5 then 31
- "Details for Vector Paint step" high values let vector paint maintain original contours, while low value allow it to distort them while simplifying them
- "Canvas look" can be omitted or applied in a soft mode or in a hard mode, when omittied the colours are closer to the original

For me... Last layer in screen or soft light and opacity 50-70%.
