Ok, now that I'm using a portable version of Gimp 2.8.1 64bit I was able to get Mathmap to work. However, when I go to Gimp's Filters/Generic/Mathmap drop-down menu I don't get the list of Mathmap filters like I used to; I only get the option for opening Mathmap, and when I do there are no filters listed under the filter heading. Anyone have any suggestions as to what I'm doing wrong? I feel like such an idiot with these sorts of things.

Charlie, are you talking about the extras folder? If so you have to download that separately.
Extra Folder

Molly,
Thanks for trying to help. I somehow figured out what I was doing wrong. With Partha's 64bit Portable you have to put the Mathmap folder (the one with the Expressions in it) in the pref1 section of the main Gimp directory. I did that and then was able to view the filters, etc.

Here's a flower, just for you for helping out.

Win 7 64 bit
Gimp 8.10 64 bit (Parthas)
Experience photo editing intermediate otherwise eager noobie

I just can't get Mathmap to work in my Gimp. There aren't any 32/bin folder in my Gimp. What shall I do? Uninstall my version and start from scratch again?

If you have a 64-bit OS, you should have a 32-bit folder in your GIMP directory, but I actually have Mathmap in my users/{me}/gimpx/plug-ins/mathmap directory (replace {me} with your user folder name and x with the version of GIMP (should be 2.8 but it could also be just 2 lets say). I put all the Mathmap required dlls in the same directory where Mathmap is located too. :)

Hei Lyleik!
I should have but I haven't. Tried to add picture of Gimp in Program files.
I'll try to get it work in your way. Thank you for your reply.

It seems, that partas version of 2.8.10 does not contain the 32 Bit environment.
In the folder "32" there resides a very rudimental 32 Bit gimp environment with
all the 32Bit dlls and other gimp stuff.
To make it valid, you have to add
PATH=${gimp_installation_dir}\bin;${gimp_installation_dir}\32\bin
in gimp\lib\gimp\2.0\environ\default.env
