Thank you AnMal. The wrought iron frame I made from this clock image. I had to laugh at the picture, because clearly the photographer didn't realize the clock was VERY crooked. It did make a nice frame with the clock face removed. I used an ordinary font for the GC initials in the center.

Wow, gorgeous effect! Can someone please tell me how to adjust to Gimp 2.9?

2.8 -> 2.9
gimp-drawable-get-name -> gimp-item-get-name
gimp-drawable-set-visible -> gimp-item-set-visible
gimp-selection-layer-alpha -> gimp-image-select-item (?) - but that requires 3 parameters whereas gimp-selection-layer-alpha only wants 1...

I really love this rusted text effect, and I would even try to CNC the gradient map of this effect, but I just don't have time to rework this script. Anyone have time to bring this effect up to date?

I suppose you can set it to output all layers, then alpha to selection the text layer to use as template to delete out the garbage?
