They are not errors, but info messages I activated during my tests.
If they annoy you I can remove them.

The filter is no more sensible to the dimensions of the output image.
Still sensible to the number of areas (it takes a bit more than 1 second for each color area on my PC).

Neither version works for me. Errors on both versions of the filter.

Can you provide the content of the error messages for each version?

I have the particle-deposition.exe file downloaded and installed as well and the plugin still does not work.

Hi Mackenzieh.

I only see the old non-recommended version on your screenshots.
You don't install both versions at the same time?
The error indicates that you have not installed gradients:

Both versions I had are under the same name and they both produced different errors. The old version, didn't produce the error you had because it wouldn't get that far for my version of gimp which is 2.10.12 64 bit but I will try again.

Here is what I have. No, I do not install both versions at the same time. I also have the gradients installed as well as the particle-desposition.exe file
Version 1:

Version 2:

Both versions still do not work. I've installed the gradients and the particle-desposition exe file and nothing.

EDIT: Version 2 works but I still have that black screen before running the plugin and that probably shouldn't be happening.

I also tested on Gimp 2.10.12 64bit.

Another issue may also be a problem:

particle-deposition.exe is a 32bit file so:

- when you use the portable version of Samj you must use the start version 32 (unfortunately) - of course after installing the required files in 32/Preferences,
- when you use Gimp 2.10.12 from gimp.org (setup3) and during installation you have selected "Support for old plug-ins" - you do not have to worry about whether * .exe in the plug-ins directory (c:\Users\... Your Name ...\AppData\Roaming\GIMP\2.10\plug-ins) is 32 or 64 bit.

The holidays will end soon, so Dinasset will come back and find a workaround...

I don't have a portable gimp. I downloaded it from gimp.org. You're probably right about the particle-desposition.exe file. I will continue to use version 2 until Dinasset is back from vacation.

For me, it doesn't run fine, it runs okay. I also am not keen on the fact that we have to manually input the gradient name, but I'll get used to it.

This is what I get:

My outcome:

Can you link me to the enhanced version if I don't have it?

@mackenzieh, I used the one in post #591 (enhanced), and extracted the gradients in post #482 to the gradients folder.
Did not manually input anything. I don't have Windows home, but I'll test with same image you did tomorrow.
The result seems okay. With some .exe plug-ins the python window appears, it also flashes when I start Gimp 2.10.12 on Windows.

I thought the post number for the enhanced version was 491? I have the enhanced version from post 491 and it still gives me the black screen and in order to change gradients, you have to manually input the number. I'll check out post 591 and see if the enhanced version is there.

Yeah I got the post number wrong. But my outcome of the Rachel Melvin from the fandom page looks exactly same than yours.
How do you change the Mandelbulb? I don't see much difference if I type "Mandel_500" or leave it as it is.
