@level_0 It is a bit like solving a crossword puzzle with your setup, - a clue here, a clue there ![]() With your old Windows 7 computer it could be the version of Gimp. The last two versions Gimp 2.10.8 and 2.10.10 can be troublesome with 32 bit. What version of Gimp are you using ? Next. Very obvious you have lots of scripts and plugins installed. FX-Foundry scripts for example are old and should be avoided, even the updated ones. The problem might be a conflict with duplicate plugins. Do you have both layerfx.py and layerfx.scm installed? A Layers -> Alpha-to-Logo entry is normal for some of those old scripts. The one to use is on the main Gimp menu bar. Just as a demo that it does work in Windows 7 32 bit and Gimp 2.10.6 see: https://youtu.be/2gXoyPgeqXc A run down right from beginning using the script / plugin / textures in Pat625 zip. |

hello rich2005 1) version 2.10.10: ![]() 2) I do not have many scripts installed (someone gave me the FXfoundry and I started to test only 5 out of the 117 of the file ![]() ![]() and not a lot of plugins: ![]() 3) in AppData \ Roaming \ GIMP \ 2.10, I removed the pluginrc file (put in "pending deletion") by following the advice here: viewtopic.php?p=240398#p240398 5) I put the layerfx.py from the Pat625 file and now, there are still more errors than with the previous layerfx: ![]() ![]() ![]() Balance of operations: it's worse than yesterday .... ![]() I saw that mackenzieh was using a layerfx.scm, I will test if I find it .... EDIT: thank you for your video rich, I always proceeded as you watch! I complete with screenshots as on your video ![]() ![]() |

Your scripts and plugins look ok to me. Not necessary to have treebark.scm in its own folder, but works anyway. Quote: in AppData \ Roaming \ GIMP \ 2.10, I removed the pluginrc file It is ok to delete this. Gimp will re-scan the plugins when next started and make a new one. The layerfx.scm will not work with the tree-bark.scm which requires layerfx.py ---------- I have a suspicion that python is not working with that 32 bit Gimp 2.10.10 installation. I mentioned this in the video. (1) In Filters menu is there a Python-Fu entry (2) If there is, then does Filters -> Render -> Spyrogimp work? This is a new default python plugin introduced with Gimp 2.10.10 If it works, python is ok. if not....problem Attachment: 21010-python.jpg [ 98.59 KiB | Viewed 3374 times ] For your old 32 bit Windows 7 computer you might have to remove Gimp 2.10.10 and go back to Gimp 2.10.6 https://download.gimp.org/mirror/pub/gi ... etup-1.exe |

Good evening rich2005 ![]() I have Script-FU entry, the (2): ![]() I tested the spyrogimp (leaving the default values), I do not see how to use it ![]() ![]() and the lines are not very visible: ![]() Quote: Not necessary to have treebark.scm in its own folder, but works anyway. i tried x times with or without a folder to see the difference and it was the same.I will put without a record. ![]() Thank you for the version 2.10.6 that I downloaded but I think I'll stay with the current Gimp because I'm temporarily on this PC.Tant worse for the tree bark, it amused me to try but I m ' will entertain otherwise. edit: finally I think I'm going to have fun with the Spyrogimp which works very well! ![]() ![]() |

Gimp 2.10.10 is working, on that win7 32 bit computer (you are one of the lucky ones.) Stick with Gimp 2.10.10 and forget tree-bark.scm until later. The spyrogimp plugin shows that python is working on your installation. It was the only purely Gimp 2.10.10 python plugin I could think of. Quote: finally I think I'm going to have fun with the Spyrogimp which works very well! It is very faint because you are in preview mode, which makes rendering quick. This using paint tool (1) , a gih (animated) brush (2) , a brush dynamic (3) and messing about with the sliders (4) The image updates as you play, great fun. ![]() Treebark suite: After my disappointments with this script on Windows7 (32 bits), I just try again with Windows 10 (64 bits) and even finding failure. The plugin is in its place: ![]() the script is also in its place: ![]() ![]() The patterns too: ![]() and yet: ![]() ![]() |

Hi Level_0. This is a diagnosed problem for using some scripts and plugins. For a non-English version of GIMP You need several gradients with the english name: FG-to-BG-(Hardedge).ggr FG-to-BG-(HSV-clockwise-hue).ggr FG-to-BG-(HSV-counter-clockwise).ggr FG-to-BG-(RGB).ggr FG-to-Transparent.ggr Download Gradients En.zip: http://gimpchat.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=16818&start=10#p235529 You do not have to download scripts_Iccii-Layer-Effects-210.zip |

Hi, where do I get the layerfx file for the script Tree_bark.scm. The download at the Gimp ORG does not work anymore. Best regards, Hardy |

I am brainstorming a GEGL alternative to this. One does not exist but here is an idea on a template for it. viewtopic.php?f=9&t=20592&p=284496#p284496 |
