Thank you Rod. I will see what I can do with that. In the meantime, should I leave that ExportSWFE.py file in? OR put the other one back?

There is also a program named PNG to SWF that is free but they require you register at their site. :)

I would take out both and just install the one i showed you.
After you download the swftools package make sure and throw a copy of the PNG2SWF.exe into the gimp plugins folder.

It didn't ask me to register, but anyway I downloaded it and placed it in my gimp2.7.3 plug-ins folder. Now when I open Gimp, it wants to install those files, I said yes and they installed all over my desktop. I deleted them all.
So, If I open the plug-in folder, should I install the .exe file right into the folder?
I also copied that {python-fu-flash-swf.py} into the same plug-in folder.

All the Chinese scripts are still there.

Does anyone know that uses Gimp 2.7 (James version) if you can change the words in the layers dialog. eg. If I have a layer called circle#1 and I wanted to change it to another name, can it be done? In other versions, I just have to double click on the layer name and I can change it. In 2.7, it won't let me... :hoh

Yes just right click the layer and at the top you will find the link to edit the layer attributes.

Molly it is an setup file install the SWF tools into program files. The installer will create a PNG2SWF.exe file.
Copy just the PNG2SWF.exe file into the plug-ins folder. The python file is fine. :)

okay, I got rid of the swf.exe out of the settings where I had them. I don't have James-Gimp installed into program files as yet. I still have them in a folder called James-stuff on my desktop. That is where I had to install swf.exe. I copied the png2swf.exe into the plug-ins folder within the James-stuff folder.

I don't get the message now that wants to install that swf.exe so it must be ok now.
Question: Why did I need that file? What is it for? lol......

It is for save in flash format (swf) a py script can't convert in a format not supported by gimp if not calling a program that may do it, swf.exe is that program

The PNG2SWF.exe file is actually the command file Gimp uses to convert your png/pngs to Flash files or SWF. :)
Because it is in the plug-ins folder the program should work.
Anything you want to run in portable has to be self contained in portable to work.Portable Gimp does not call out to the users machine or system files, for any needed files or DLL's.Regular installs however,do. :ninja

@JamersH

WOW...JamesH here there is a treasure, even too much goodies, and not only for animation :jumpclap :jumpclap :jumpclap :jumpclap

I hope you don't mind if i'm going to use a lot of them to complete a similar project i had in mind from long

That is GimpVideo ...coming soon
I will credit you at best i can for this amazing work (and for the last GAP version i saw in the other topic )

PS the 3GB limit (for the use of RAM) of the 32 bit sw is very severe when working with video or anyway complex animation
so...any hope for GAP 2.7 compiled at 64 bit ?
