Trandoductin, Thank you for making a script. Should the script work with gimp 2.6.11?

wbool63,

The script (in 1st post) was intended for gimp 2.8.
But I just wrote another version for 2.6.12 you can try this one (hopefully it works for 2.6.11 as well).
Attachment:
Hatched26.scm

It needs to have layerfx.scm installed (found here)

2.6 Test (Hatched once, then hatched the shadow of the first hatch with shrink distance 0 and shadow opacity 0)
Attachment:
2.6_Test.jpg

Also there is no "FG to BG (Hardedge)" gradient in 2.6 so I set it to use "FG to BG (RGB)" gradient.

Thank you Trandoductin, your "hatched26.scm" works fine in 2.6.11. I had already made a hard edged gradient "FG-BG-(Hardedge).ggr" so edited your scm to look for FG BG (Hardedge).ggr

I saw dinasset post about about language choice. Just to be a bit more specific GB or US will be their version of English only. Canada (CA) is a bilingual country French & English, for example notice the combination at Gimp.org.

Having fun again. Thank you wbool63 for the original tutorial and trandoductin for the great script. :clap

Also played around with GMIC to get the effects of the background.

Dalia an excellent example of the method or filter script of a hatched font use in context. It always was intended to be used as a title in a map or heading of a document.
Good choice of colours to complement the main image. Bermuda Triangle? Definitely, a foreboding sense of doom or disaster.

Great results everyone!

wbool63, thank you for your comments. You're right it does seem ominous and not entirely idyllic with the "title". :( I started with the text and as usual went off. Appropriately it should have been "The Perfect Storm" ;)
