Graechan,Thank You for the script. Does the script require Gimp 2.8. I run Gimp 2.6.11. The script is located at ScriptFu/logos.
The script works in a fashion or am I just doing it wrong (not understand the inputs ). Here is the result of running the script. The colours do not make sense to me. Also my starting image was 640 x400 and the script output is 1040X567. Does it scale according to font size?

to change the background you have to change
background type
only at that point either color or pattern is used

@dinasset, thank you for your reply.

Yes I am aware of that. I expected the parchment paper b/g as that is the choice. The yellow is from a previous experiment with colours. ( I should not have left it there, my mistake). My problem really is with the colours generally. If you look at the outcome colours and the input colours, you will see that there is no resemblance to my colour choices in the input to the script. Also you will notice the different image size and the transparent area surrounding the parchment. The original document is white 600X400.

I found that too wooble, my color choices didn't correspond with the ones in the dialogue.

I agree.
I guess that Graechan should put some explanation on how the other colours are managed.
I noticed that if I change the colours the outcome is different, but in which way I should expect a modification is not clear, in other words: which is the relationship between entered colours and outcome.

The option window is longer than my screen can handle, so i had to tab a bunch of times to get to the OK button. But it's great. Too bad script-fu doesn't have a way of asking for user inputs on the same line so we can put say 2 or 3 options on one row sort of thing.

First of all thank you Graechan for this new toy.
I think that only Gradient input is working the other two ( Gradient foreground color and Gradient background color ) dont change anything!

AFAIK, no one has compiled the plug-in to work with MAC. Partha said he would add it to his next compile, but that's probably not going to happen until there is a new version of GIMP released.

If you save the layers you will notice the the text-layer is set to GRAIN-MERGE, alter this to NORMAL and your colors will be OK
