Thanks for the new scripts.
Only to increase the range of adjustment - Look Eye Candy 3.1 Water Drops (pspi which works well for Gimp 2.8)

I had a look to Eye Candy parameters.
I saw that all parameters are related to the drops themselves, while in my case the drops are not created dynamically, but have been created previously, thus I just put as dynamic variations only the two parameters of the gimp brushes:
-aspect ratio
-angle
At the moment I don't see any quick improvement to apply, maybe later on
Thanks again, anyhow

Thank you MareroQ, It's nice the look. However, in my opinion, water drops aren't perfect circles. I'd like it more if the large drops were irregular. What do you think? It's only my opinion. :)

Nice job on the script, dinasset. I'm looking forward to testing it out.

It looks nice and fascinating, Issabella.

One question (you know my curiosity...):

1-did you have in mind a scene seen thru a glass with rain-drops on it (rain has just started)
or
2-a direct scene view with a so lazy (lazy like me!) rain that drops are falling down so slowly that they look still round
or
3-a photo taken with a very short time of exposure, so that (again) drops look round?

the doubt makes the picture more fascinating!...

Excuse me for digging this old thread out again.
But I have a problem with this script and GIMP 2.10.
It sometimes works and sometimes it does not. Finishing with this message:

  Draw random drops Warnung
Fehler beim Ausführen von script-fu-draw-random-drops:

Error: Procedure execution of gimp-drawable-get-pixel failed

Is there a way to make the raindrops work for 2.10?

Thanks a lot
nelo

It's really an old affair, I'll try to see what I can do, but it will take some time, sorry, Nelo.
(Also, quite a lot I do not manage .scm filters...maybe I will "convert" it to .py and check, but no promise)

Nelo,
I did some tests: it seems you get the mentioned error when there is no selection.
Hence, my suggestion to solve the problem is:
- if you do not have a need to select a specific area (a flower e.g.), then do: select all then selection shrink 1.
Let me know if using this technique you still get that error.

In spite of my lost habit on managing .scm filters, I guess to have fixed the problem you noticed (random errors).
Try this version and tell me, Nelo.

Ohh, wow! Thank you so very much Diego.

It almost works. There seems to be a problem with the gradient name (line 106) when GIMP's version is non- English. Changed that to German and script worked to the end.
One minor issue: it left the Map Layer visible, which resulted in a bw-photo. Switching that to invisible ... and all is perfect.

Thank you so very much again. Would have been a pity if that script couldn't be used anymore.

Glad you have it working again, Nelo.
About the gradient name: yes, I should have done something like "get gradients list" then use element #4, but this is outside my today's ability to work with .scm
About the visibility of the map this sounds a bit strange to me: on my PC the final outcome has it invisible, and you can verify that statement #222 just says
(gimp-item-set-visible mapLayer 0)
which sets it invisible
