Hey Wirra - a case of great minds think alike .. but you beat me to it! So I will not post Uluru or sunset at Monkey Mia or use an Aussie map selection; but playing with the selection outlines and effects makes this script very powerful. So instead here is a dolphin at the beach at Monkey Mia and an Eastern Water Skink on our patio ... I just love this script and have downloaded Dinaset's/Graechan's updated version. Thanks again people!

Hi
You write: «but playing with the selection outlines and effects makes this script very powerful. » Where do you find selections and effects in that script? Did I miss a tutorial? I downloaded it and played a bit with it but did not get anything near your art.

Arran the script will use any selection that's present when you run it, otherwise it will create its own,
you can test by creating a selection any shape you like then run the script

@Graechan - only on holiday here since 1968; migrated then and loved the place eversince. Now in retirement I am getting the chance to explore this wonderful country and GIMP too!

And just to demo some more of Oz - some Xmas Bells and a Kookaburra!! Oh yes @Wirra, I acknowledge your first use of Oz map selection - great idea!

Hi oldgrumpyman - as you said earlier, great minds think alike with the use of the Australia map selection. Just lucky I beat you to the punch. :hehe

Exploring Oz is great. My wife and I just did a safari tour from Broome to Alice Springs through the Kimberleys and Tanami desert. Had a great time - some beautiful country.

Cheers,
Bob

How wonderful these views Sallyanne. Making different selections (apart from the default one) is great and very creative. :clap

@Wirra - just wondering if you passed through Kalgoorlie on your tour; I was experimenting with selection shapes & effects (coloured pencil) in this script and came up with this picture of the Super Pit open cut gold mine we visited there. Darwin/Broome cruise & Kimberleys is on our bucket list!

Added one from Tasmania too which shows the 'power' of this script as I previously mentioned above - just love it!

oldmangrumpy - Didn't get to Kalgoorlie on this trip. Basically spent a week or so around Perth, a short trip to Monkey Mia and the Pinnacles and then the safari through the Kimberleys to Alice Springs. We are thinking about doing a safari from Cairns to Darwin next year. Here's a couple of photos to wet your appetite for the Kimberleys. A helicopter view of Mitchell Falls and the Drysdale River. Obviously the dry season.

I like your photo of Cradle Mountain. I went there about 20 years ago.

Cheers,
Bob

Wirra if you decide to stay just like Oldmangrumpy did, I think we could squeeze you into the country before we run out of room :rofl
