The IFS plugin seemed to continually fail in my Gimp but now is larger and more reliable

Forgot all about this plugin in; looked in my archive and found samj's 64-bit compile (she no longer hosts) and it works great. Thanks for reminding me of this cool plugin Graechan. :)

Yeah; had samj's compile. She no longer hosts it though unfortunately. Not sure if she ever posted it here at her resource thread or not. :)

Greetings. Is there an OSX build for the IFS plugin available? I see no comprehensible guides anywhere regarding getting IFS working on OSX.
In fact there's this extremely discouraging note in the G.I.M.P. manual:

"If you on the other hand are one of the Users that preferred to grab a prebuild GIMP package like GIMP.app, you most probably want to stick to that prebuild stuff. So you can try to get a prebuild version of the plugin of you dreams from the author of the plugin, but I'd not want to bet on this. Building your own binaries unfortunately involves installing GIMP through one of the package managers mentioned above."

(from the scripts section of the gimp manual)

Regards

for use on OSX you could try compiling and test it out but I do not know of any builds that have been done

Thanks. I haven't found any comprehensible information on compiling it without building from FINK.

Theres really no way to install the newest version of GIMP (x11 independent) and get plugins to work without going through a 3 hour compile time?

That seems excessively user un-friendly.

Further suggestions appreciated :)

Ok I tried that link.

All it does is re-skin what I already have, and doesn't get me any closer to any IFS functionality.

(But the new skin looks fun)

Am I missing something in the interface? I tired searching for IFS in the help area.

can you be more explicit about your problem e.g. plugin not running correcty, also the help area will be of no use as it's not a default plugin

place it in your plugins folder and restart gimp, open an image then go to Filters/Misc/IFS and select,
your Menu will look like this↓
