I lost all my metallica script files 2 years ago when my motherboard took a dive so I have rewritten metallica to give this output

Gmic's extrude seems to only have a set amount of fill available , hence different length words changes the result as below

But it's a small price to pay for the overall result

Is it a new script or an old one?...I know you were all on about metal text a while back and I have a couple but this looks different.

Very nice Graechan, I still have your old script which I saved cuz I really liked it a lot. I will play around with your new one with all these new features introduced into it.

Very nice Sallyanne,
I still find the edges a big ragged, though maybe there is a way to add some kind of smoothing feature into the script, dunno.

That was the bevelled effect. I noticed it after I had posted. A blur maybe?

Well Graechan an expected five minute test experience of 'Metallica' turned into two absorbing hours of progressive learning, especially about which fonts and which settings deliver the best results. Bevelled text was not problematical at all but as far as 3D text goes, I am now an accredited expert at producing random shiny blobs!

How you get the depth shown in your examples has so far eluded me although, finally, I was creating actual text not blobs. Thanks again for another gripping script experience.

P.S. we do not have any wallabies at my place but this morning during a 'Metallica Learning' coffee break I saw a PAIR of blue tongues emerge from under our pond deck - beautiful reptiles and fairly large ones too.

Graechan - consider it tried and tested!!

Image

Various fonts (did not post the 'blobs'!) - still need practice obviously to achieve your broad/deep characters.

You will not be able to do those because the 'gmic extrude3d filter' was to unpredictable to control over various text lengths so I was forced to scrap the Idea, maybe Ronounours could explain why
